Manchester United and Chelsea are two clubs who have found themselves intertwined in the headlines, and not only down to both sides’ poor form as of late.
The Blues former coach – Jose Mourinho – has been linked with the managerial post at Old Trafford, having been sacked by the London giants, with speculation tipping him as an ideal replacement for under-fire boss Louis Van Gaal.
The Dutchman has seen the 20-time English Premier League champions lose their last 4 games in all competitions, the Boxing Day 2-0 defeat to Stoke being the latest hiccup, as the eagerness to see the former Netherlands boss be replaced continues to grow among the club’s faithful.
Nonetheless, the Special One’s agent – Jorge Mendes – was out to burst Man United fans bubbles, revealing to Sky Sports that Jose has been in no talks with any club over a return to work.
"Right now he’s in Brazil, we'll see what happens when he gets back," Mendes said.
"At the moment we haven't been talking about England, Spain or Italy.
"He only needs to be calm and not worry about anything - he's the best manager in the world."
Reports claim that Real Madrid are keen on luring the Portuguese manager back to the Bernabeu, having left in 2013 after his relationship with several key players turned ill.
The 52-year-old, however, is believed to be resisting a return to Los Blancos. Could he be holding out for the Man United job?
