Alexis Sanchez is in the form of his life, not even a Peruvian witch doctor with a turtle can stop him now.
The Chilean striker, who scored five goals in two consecutive English Premier League games for Arsenal prior to the international break, traveled with his national team, as they set off to Peru to lock horns with Ricardo Gareca’s crew.
The 26-year-old former Barcelona man was the star of the game, as he bagged a brace, his 8th and 9th goal in 5 games, to guide Jorge Sampaoli’s side to a 4-3 win, to make it two wins out of two in 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Alexis broke the deadlock early on in the game thanks to a 7th minute goal, as the Gunners ace beat Pedro Gallese to hand Chile the lead.
However, after 36 minutes of play, the home side went front courtesy of a Jefferson Farfan penalty. Eduardo Vargas drew the away side level in the 41st minute, before Sanchez one again gave his nation the lead with a goal in the 44th minute.
Alexis even had time to dish out an assist, setting up team-mate Vargas for his second of the night.
Of course, Twitter went Alexis Sanchez mad after the 4-3 win, showering Arsenal’s number 17 with praise. Check out some of the best tweets.
