Manchester United is trying to sign Arturo Vidal from Juventus, but the price-tag may be too high.

After Manchester United’s disastrous season, the team is focused on making a big comeback and reclaim the title from rivals Manchester City. However, so far the Red Devils have only mentioned big names without making any serious offer.

Arturo Vidal was crucial for the success of the Chilean national team

There were talks of Reus, Pogba, Robben and Strootman, yet Man United has made zero offers for these established players. Instead, Manchester United have signed only young prospects up until now, with Herrera and Shaw joining Old Trafford next season.

Vidal scored 28 goals in 95 appearances with Juventus

Recently though, the Red Devils seem to be on a mission to bring Arturo Vidal to England. The Chilean however has an almost prohibitive price-tag. Infact, Juventus value the midfielder at least £40M, but Man United is hoping to drive the price down to £30M inserting Nani in the deal.

Nani is a skilled player who often chooses spectacular tricks over efficiency

This would represent a rather generous valuation of the Portuguese, who after a poor season with the Manchester club, and a very unimpressive performance during the World Cup, does not seem to be worth the alleged £10M. Van Gaal initially wanted to bring back Paul Pogba, but the very high price drove his attention to Vidal, who the Dutch manager already wanted at Bayern Munich a long time ago.
