FIFA World Cup

2026

Danish subscription-television network TV2 has acquired rights to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The broadcaster will cover the tournament along with public network DR.

UEFA Euro

2024-2028

TV2 Denmark has secured rights to the UEFA Euro 2024 and Euro 2028 tournaments. The multi-platform agreement will let TV2 show live Euro Championship games on television and on its over-the-top (OTT) service TV2 Play.

UEFA Nations League

2022-2028

TV2 Denmark has acquired the rights to all UEFA Europa Nations League matches from 2022 through 2028. The government-owned network will show games from every team, including those from the Danish national team.

UEFA Euro Qualifying

2022-2028

TV2 has grabbed media rights to all UEFA European Qualifiers, including those involving the Danish national team, following a deal that runs from 2022 to 2028. TV2 will show the matches on television, as well as on its OTT streaming service TV2 Play.

Spain - La Liga

2021-2026

TV2 has acquired Danish broadcast rights for La Liga, covering the period from 2021 to 2026. Under this agreement, TV2 is slated to broadcast all 380 matches per season of Spain's top-tier football league. TV2's La Liga deal may also includes match highlights, shows and more.

TV2 Sport X history, coverage, features

TV2 Denmark is a Danish television channel owned and operated by the Danish Ministry of Culture. It was launched on January 4, 2020. The channel was created to increase TV2’s broadcasts in the country, which came as a direct effort to end DR’s monopoly of Danish television. It is the second most relevant sports channel for the TV2 brand, with TV2 Sport being part of the company.

Over the years, TV2 Sport X Denmark has made a name for itself with its broadcasts that have included disciplines such as handball, ice hockey, basketball, cycling, football, and winter sports. Sometimes, TV2 Sport X has been used as an overflow channel to TV2 Sport when one or more sports events are taking place at the same time. 

Speaking about football, TV2 Sport has covered games for the Danish Superliga, and for national leagues such as La Liga, the Serie A, the MLS, or the Eredivisie. National team football has also been covered on this channel, with games for the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Nations League, and the UEFA Euro being aired on this channel.

Since its launch, TV2 Sport X has been available in High-Definition to improve the viewer’s experience.
