Broadcast Rights

Competitions available on SuperSport OTT 3

SuperSport maintains non-exclusive linear and digital pay-TV broadcast rights to the UEFA Champions League in sub-Saharan Africa until 2027, following a three-year extension deal covering the 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 seasons. SuperSport subscribers can watch and stream all Champions League games with English-language commentary on different devices, including smart TVs, mobiles, computers, tablets, and some gaming devices via SuperSport’s partnership with over-the-top service provider DStv.
More details Users seeking both TV broadcast and streaming UCL coverage must ensure that they also purchase a DStv dish, as the games are shown on SuperSport’s linear networks. However, football fans in sub-Saharan Africa may stream UEFA Champions League matches live and on-demand on DStv Stream, which provides access to games via internet browsers and other devices using the DStv App.

In addition, viewers can watch UCL match highlights via the SuperSport App on mobile phones (Android, iOS, and Huawei), free for users in sub-Saharan Africa without needing to subscribe to DStv.
Fans in Sub-Saharan Africa can watch UEFA Nations League matches live on Supersport with English-language commentary.

The current deal between Supersport and UEFA means that fans can watch the most important UEFA Nations League matches live on the pay-TV service in the following countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Comoros, Congo Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, St Helena and Ascension, Sudan Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
More details

UEFA Nations League matches in these African territories are streamed live via the Supersport app on iOS and Android devices, as well as the DStv Stream service. Users are advised to consult their local MediaChoice office representatives on available packages comprising UEFA Nations League content, though the games are likely accessible via the DStv Stream Premium offer. SuperSport subscribers may also watch Nations League match highlights, news, interviews and more.
The MultiChoice-owned SuperSport network has secured EPL broadcast rights in sub-Saharan Africa for the 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 seasons. This three-year renewal ensures that the pay-TV broadcaster remains the home of the Premier League in over 40 African countries, a title it has held since the league’s inception.
More details As a result, fans in Nigeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, and other countries can watch EPL games live and on-demand on SuperSport’s linear channels.

SuperSport offers live EPL coverage across sub-Saharan Africa through satellite TV and streaming. Its channels are also available on the MultiChoice streaming service Showmax, which provides fans with an additional way to watch live matches.

To access live and on-demand Premier League games, viewers need a DSTv subscription, which comes in two formats: a decoder (set-top box and streaming) or a streaming-only package. Each package includes various plans that may differ by country, with the Premium, Compact Plus, and Compact plans providing the most extensive EPL coverage.

Additionally, viewers can subscribe to Showmax’s Premier League package to stream EPL games live and on-demand on SuperSport. However, this package allows streaming only on mobile or tablet devices. On the other hand, the DSTv app, available for free with a DSTv subscription, is compatible with select smart TVs, game consoles, and Android and iOS mobile phones/tablets. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Huawei AppGallery, and other app stores.
