Polsat Sport History, Coverage, Features

Polsat Sport is a Polish TV channel owned and operated by Polsat. The channel was originally launched on April 11, 2000 to properly cover sports events such as the UEFA European Championship in 2000 and the FIFA World Cup in 2002.

Over the years, Polsat Sport has established itself as one of the top sports channels in Poland. Their reputation has been cemented on their coverage of various disciplines, which have included football, futsal, motorsports, volleyball, tennis, athletics, rugby, boxing, basketball, handball, beach soccer, beach volleyball, cycling, e-sports, mixed martial arts, and more.

Polsat Sport 1 has been considered the company’s flagship channel, as the most relevant live sports events have always been aired on this channel.

Speaking about football, Polsat Sport has focused on airing domestic and international tournaments such as the Polish Second Division, the Polish Super Cup, the Polish Cup, and leagues from other countries such as the Eredivisie, the Fortuna Liga, the MLS, the Scottish Premiership, and more.

International football tournaments have also been featured on this channel. Those tournaments aired on this network over the years have included the UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Youth League, the International Champions Cup, and certain games for the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Tournaments for national teams such as the Copa América have also been aired on this channel.

Polsat Sport 1 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was launched to cover the 2008 UEFA Euro in proper fashion. Polsat Sports’ feeds are still available across the country.
