The Gabonese star was assaulted and threatened with firearm and iron bats during this ordeal that took place in the early hours of Monday.

Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his family have reportedly suffered a traumatic experience as armed thieves allegedly broke into the Gabonese ace's house in Castelldefels.

According to El Pais, who cite police sources, four armed thieves climbed over the wall of his house and gained access to his back garden before coming into contact with the player and his wife of more than 10 years, Alysha Behague.

Alysha was the victim of intimidation while the 33-year-old attacker was beaten and threatened with firearm and iron bats during this horrible robbery. This scary altercation took place in the early hours of Monday, with the thieves escaping Aubameyang's residence with jewelry after being granted access to his safe.

El Pais writes that the former Arsenal captain was assaulted in front of his partner, with the criminals eventually escaping in an Audi A3. The Camp Nou ace has two kids, aged 11 and six, but it remains unclear whether the children were present at the house during this ordeal.

Other reports claim that the couple were tied up for an hour. Fortunately, both the player and his wife are, for the most part, fine but will have to deal with the psychological ramifications. The police have been informed of this crime and have opened an investigation.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time a Barcelona player has fallen victim to robbery. The likes of Ansu Fati, Robert Lewandowski, Gerard Pique, Philippe Coutinho, and Jordi Alba have had run-ins with criminals, but none were physically harmed in those cases.

Aubameyang's name was already in the headlines, but for a totally different reason, as the striker has been subject to interest from Chelsea. The arrival of Lewandowski means his future at the Camp Nou is under doubt, with Thomas Tuchel keen on bringing the goalscorer to Stamford Bridge this summer.
