Chelsea defender Ivanovic isn’t ruling his side’s chances ahead of this weekend’s big Premier League fixture against Manchester United.
The Red Devils are on fire in the EPL. They’ve scored 18 goals in 4 matches and a lot of thanks will need to go to Wayne Rooney for that.

“[Manchester] United have started the season very well,” Ivanovic had to admit during an interview with the press.

“But, if you remember, we [Chelsea] started last season the same. Of course they [Man United] have improved but we have our aims, our ideas and we will try and show these on the pitch.”

Chelsea are still unbeaten under Andre Villas-Boas. They currently occupy the third spot in the English Premier League table. Only Manchester City and Manchester United can boast of having more points than the Blues.

Last weekend, Chelsea stood firm throughout 90 minutes of football to steal all three points away from Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. They’ll be keen to maintain their momentum on the domestic front. Thankfully for supporters of the Blues, the team had a great time in midweek.

Chelsea kick-started their UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen whereas Manchester United actually managed nothing better than a draw against SL Benfica.
