Finally, the Netherlands will come together as a team since playing the USA on March 3 this year. They will face Mexico in a friendly match on Wednesday, May 26. The game will be staged in Innsbruck and should kick off at 18:00 GMT.

Netherland fans cheer their team from the stands with the orange color.Both the Netherlands and Mexico will feature at the upcoming 2010 World Cup tournament which will be held in South Africa between June 11 and July 11. In terms of head-to-head, the Dutch have the upper hand. Ahead of the 1998 World Cup in France, the two countries met in a friendly encounter and the Europeans ran away 3-2 winners on the day. They repeated this achievement in 2006 when they defeated El Tri 2-1 and they'll be keen to do that one more time as they warm up for the big event in South Africa.

Mexico, meanwhile, have some job to do before the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The 2009 Gold Cup winners just lost a friendly match to England on a 3-1 score line. If their defense proved to be shaky at times, their shooting ability was also to blame. Mexico showed positivity against the Three Lions at the Wembley stadium with excellent moves upfront but they were either denied by luck or by unconvincing shots.

 

Carlos Vela especially should certainly blame himself for failing to live up to expectations. The Arsenal striker was guilty of missing a one-on-one opportunity to put the ball at the back of the net and therefore punish England on the counter just before half the hour mark. The Netherlands will face Ghana and Hungary during the first seven days of the month of June before opening their 2010 World Cup campaign with a match against Denmark. As for the Mexicans, they will test their spirits against African side Gambia and reigning World Cup champions Italy before playing South Africa on June 11.
