Both teams played their first match of the tournament on Sunday. Mexico made the most out of their match against Uruguay, beating La Celeste with a 3-1 score line and putting up a fine display on both ends of the pitch. On the other hand, Jamaica played quite an impressive match against Venezuela, but the team from the Caribbean ended up losing by a one-goal margin.
A victory fo Mexico would guarantee their presence in the tournament's knockout stage, and they will try to accomplish that against a team that has never won a match in this competition. Furthermore, Mexico would return to a Copa América knockout stage for tbe first time since the 2007 edition.
Mexico's form
Coach Juan Carlos Osorio will have to make do without midfielder and co-captain Andrés Guardado, who is set to miss this game due to a one-match ban. Even if Guardado is quite an asset for El Tri, his absence may not be as relevant for the team, given Osorio's desire to change his lineup every game to keep all of his players ready for crunch moments.
The North American side will also try to match the team's record for most games without a loss. El Tri was able to go 21 games unbeaten under coach Ricardo La Volpe. So, even if there is one more game to go for the Mexicans, Thursday's game will be pretty relevant for them in order to seal their place in history.
Players such as goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa (No. 13), Diego Reyes (No. 5) and Javier Hernández are set to make an appearance for El Tri on Thursday evening.
Jamaica's form
The Caribbean team earned a spot in this tournament due to their victory in their regional championship, and if that wasn't enough, they had an interesting appearance in last year's Copa América. Nevertheless, they need to back their antics on the pitch with a victory, something they are yet to achieve in the continental tournament.
On Sunday, Jamaica lost the third of their most recent four matches. During their Copa debut against Venezuela, an early goal for La Vinotinto, which was later followed by a red card and an injury to two of their key players complicated things for German coach Winfred Schäfer.
Nevertheless, Jamaica could benefit from that red card, considering that Leicester City's captain Wes Morgan used those minutes as a sub to get back in shape, making him a sure starter against El Tri. Captain Morgan is a huge influence inside the team, and his drive and experience will come in handy for the Reggae Boyz.

These teams have played 20 matches against each other. Mexico has won sixteen times, with only two wins for Jamaica and a couple more draws.
Jamaica has never been able to win a match against Mexico away from home. Their most recent win facing El Tri came back in October of 2008, when the Reggae Boyz won 1-0 against the Mexicans.
Their most recent match came back in July, when they played the 2015 Gold Cup final. Mexico relied heavily on their experience and class to outscore Jamaica 3-1, winning the regional tournament for the first time since 2011.
