It's a tense battle for fourth spot as Roma and AC Milan lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Roma's confidence is nothing but shot at the moment. The Giallorossi suffered a humiliating 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia recently and now Eusebio Di Francesco has been linked with a sacking at the midway point of the season. The Coppa Italia realistically presented Roma's only chance at winning any silverware this campaign, as the Lupi are not expected to honestly challenge for the Champions League, and the Scudetto is a foregone conclusion - even with Juventus slipping up recently. As such, they now are hoping to hang on for fourth place and secure a spot in next year's Champions League, but will face a tough battle with AC Milan also aiming for the same objective.

The Rossoneri, who were dumped out of the Europa League early, are still afloat in the Coppa Italia thanks to an impressive 2-0 victory over Napoli, and with Juventus shockingly eliminated by Atalanta, Milan surely will be fancying their chances at going all the way in that competition at this point. New signing Krzysztof Piatek was the hero against the Partenopei, netting a brace to send Carlo Ancelotti's side packing, and he'll be looking to force his way back into the Capocannoniere discussion here with a great showing against a Roma side who shipped a whopping seven goals just a few days ago.

Although Edin Dzeko received a red card in his side's shocking humiliation to Fiorentina, he'll be available to play here, and will be aiming to make amends for his poor performance midweek. Will Roma recover from their midweek drubbing, or will Milan capitalize on that to consolidate their grip on fourth spot? Certainly, Roma vs Milan is a match not to miss for calcio fans, as this game could ultimately prove decisive in who ends up in the Champions League next year and who had to settle for Europa League football.
