There appears to be hope for Neymar ahead of next week’s Real Madrid clash. Speaking after his injury in the Marseille victory, Unai Emery handed hope for the many worried fans.
The world’s most expensive player rolled his ankle during the 3-0 victory in Le Classique. He was visibly in awful pain and was thus stretchered off the pitch in tears, leading many to believe he will miss the return leg of Les Parisiens’ round of 16 tie with Los Blancos.
The Selecao ace even shed some worrying light on his injury, posting an Instagram story with a picture of his foot in a cast with heavy straps around his ankle. His foot was rested on a sofa, hinting that weight cannot be put on it.

However, the PSG expressed a more optimistic tone when speaking to the media shortly after the final whistle. According to the Spanish boss, Neymar is more likely to feature than miss the Champions League tie if his initial test is anything to go by.
"The first tests we have done show it is a sprain, we will do more medical examinations to be totally sure," he said in his post-match press conference," Emery said, as per the Mirror.
"Neymar is going to do some new tests. We’re going to stay optimistic.
"If today I had to say yes or no to be fit against Real [Madrid], I would say yes. I want to be optimistic."
One PSG staff even told SporTV: "This does not seem serious". Of course, this could be false hope spread to keep the Ligue 1 giant’s hopes of overturning the 3-1 deficit against Zidane’s alive.
The 26-year-old is definitely out for Wednesday’s cup tie against Marseille and Saturday’s league clash with Troyes. Only time will tell if he will recover in time for the Real Madrid encounter.
