Real Madrid are obviously the heavy favorites...but can Napoli spring an upset?

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will be seeking to make their seventh straight appearance in the quarter-finals. Los Blancos come into this game still on top of La Liga, with two games in hand after beating Osasuna 3-1 during this weekend's fixture. Hence, despite bowing out of the Copa del Rey, Zinedine Zidane's side are still in contention to win at two titles this term. In terms of personnel, both Dani Carvijal and Marcelona make their returns from injury, but unfortunately Gareth Bale will not be fit to feature despite returning to light training. Meanwhile, defender Danilo looks set to miss out due to a leg injury sustained during the team's win over Osasuna.

Napoli

Meanwhile, the Partenopei have a full strength squad available for selection. Arkadiusz Milik, who suffered a knee injury earlier this season, is back with the squad, but likely will not feature. Napoli are nine points away from Juventus in the Scudetto race, meaning that unless the Bianconeri suffer a shocking collapse, that competition is out of their hands. However, they will take on Juventus in the Coppa Italia, so there is still the possibility of at least one title available for Maurizio Sarri's side.

It goes without saying that Napoli are obviously the underdogs here. This is only their second appearance in the round of 16, and they have never gone beyond this stage. Real Madrid fans obviously were relieved that they didn't get a much tougher opponent, but the Partenopei do have some options that could cause their hosts a bit of trouble. There's Dries Mertens, who has 16 goals in Serie A, including three hat-tricks and 14 goals in his last 11 matches. Ex-Real Madrid man Jose Maria Callejon has chipped in with nine assists in the league and will be looking to make an impact against his former teammates. And skipper Marek Hamsik has racked up 109 goals, which leaves him with six goals to match legendary Diego Maradona's all-time top scoring record.
