French star Karim Benzema grabbed the attention of both Real Madrid and Man United fans on Instagram thanks to one of the photos he uploaded on Sunday on his account. The long-time Man United and Arsenal target posted a photo of himself and his daughter interlocked into each other’s arms as they enjoyed what seemed to be a peaceful sleep. But the image on the background is what might have inspired his next move on Instagram.
Just behind him, next to the bed, there was a red object that appeared to have Manchester United’s club crest embedded on it.
The photo instantly sparked transfer rumors as some Man United fans loved the idea of having the lethal forward partnering with his national team mate Anthony Martial upfront. Given that Jose Mourinho is still considered the favorite to take the Old Trafford job after Louis Van Gaal’s sacking on Monday, some fans of the Red Devils were seemingly excited of the prospects of watching Benzema teaming up with his former boss Mourinho in England.
However, after noticing the level of excitement and speculation sparked by the photo, the 29-year old then uploaded a new photo of himself celebrating a goal for Real Madrid with the caption: 'R. Madrid Forever.’
But was that a tactic to distract the attention of the already-excited Man United fans? Could the lethal forward be on his way to Old Trafford this summer? Only time will tell.
