Even if Simon Mignolet hasn't been as shaky as last season, Jürgen Klopp has revealed one of the Reds' top priority will be to sign a new goalkeeper for next season.
Reports by Catalan-based newspaper Sport reveal that Marc André Ter Stegen, who hasn't been able to establish himself as the No.1 goalie for Barcelona, would be one of Klopp's top choices to guard Liverpool's net next season. The German shot-stopper has voiced his dismay for being Los Cules' backup keeper ever since he got injured during the 2014-2015 preseason training camp.
Ter Stegen has only played 38 games for Barcelona since joining them last season.
The former Borussia Mönchengladbach keeper would be keen on leaving Los Blaugranas, since he has only played in Copa del Rey and Champions League, leaving all of La Liga matches to Chilean goalie Claudio Bravo. The German goalkeeper was not able to send Bravo to the sidelines when the current season started, as he made a number of mistakes that sent him down Luis Enrique's pecking order.
With that in mind, Klopp would be willing to lure his compatriot away from the current UEFA Champions League holders, while providing some competition for Belgian shot-stopper Simon Mignolet.
