The iconic Barclays Premier League logo was introduced in 2007, with the lion – a symbol of the relationship between the top-flight and the English Football Association (FA) – being an ever-present figure since the league’s inception in 1992.
However, with the Premier League’s deal with the British bank coming to an end this year, they have opted against having a title sponsorship, thus leading to their decision to ditch their 9-year-old logo in favor of a new, refreshed look.
And we now have it, “the Premier League” – as it will be known from 2016/17 onwards –released their latest design in the launch. Check it out in the pictures below.

Speaking at the launch of the new logo, Premier League Managing Director Richard Masters said:
“From next season we will move away from title sponsorship and the competition will be known simply as the Premier League, a decision which provided the opportunity to consider how we wanted to present ourselves as an organisation and competition.

Barclays have been the English top-flight’s lead sponsors since 2001, having replaced former 8-year lead sponsor Carling.
The current Barclays Premier League logo was re-designed and introduced in 2007
Beginning from the upcoming 2016/17 campaign, the Premier League will have 7 major sponsors, two of which will be Nike and EA Sports, whilst the remaining 5 will be announced in the coming months.
