Once again, Mesut Özil was the man for Arsenal in a crucial match.
Proving his haters wrong, the German playmaked added two more assists to his season's tally, leading Arsenal to another victory against Manchester City in the last match before Christmas in the English Premier League.
The Gunners opened up the scoring thanks to Theo Walcott's well placed shot, taking advantage of a sweet pass by Özil. Before the first half came to a close, Özil sent a through ball to Olivier Giroud, who put the ball between Joe Hart's legs to make it 2-0. Although Yaya Touré managed to score for the Citizens, it was too late for them to come back.
With this win, Arsenal is four points ahead of Manchester City in the EPL's second place, while they keep themselves two points away from Leicester City, who are dominating the English top flight until now.
Özil became the fastest player in the history of the EPL to rack 15 assists in a season, achieving the milestone in only 16 games played. He has been crucial to the team's run this year, keeping Arsenal as a true title contender ahead of their usual opponents: Manchester United, Manchester City and sloppy defending champions Chelsea.
Here's a closer look at how fans reacted to Özil's display today.

The only reason Ozil can't score a lot is because he doesn't have himself to assist him.
