The Bavarians have made a flying start to the new campaign and are currently unbeaten in 12 league matches having won 11 during the process. Their incredible run has once again allowed them to be termed as the favorites for the title and Pep Guardiola's men currently enjoy a five point lead over second placed Borussia Dortmund.
Schalke boss Andre Breitenreiter is aware of Bayern's supremacy and has warned his players that only a flawless performance could allow them to get the better of their counterparts. His side has not recorded a victory in their last six matches in all competitions and suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of rivals Dortmund in their last encounter.
Breitenreiter has accepted that Schalke will be the underdogs on Saturday but is hoping to capitalise on any errors made by their opponents.
"We want to play without any mistakes – you need to against Bayern," he said.
"We will be giving the team a clear game plan. There will be chances for us in the match.
"We have gone over a number of things that we want to implement on Saturday, but we're the underdogs.
"There are games where Bayern make mistakes and are maybe a little sloppy. We want to take advantage of that."
Schalke will welcome back captain Benedikt Höwedes to the squad whereas the manager has also revealed good news pertaining to the players returning from international duty.
"All of the international players have returned fully fit," he added. "Bene Howedes is back on board now too after his injury.
"Leroy Sane, Max Meyer and Leon Goretzka put in great performances with Germany Under-21s and have really developed as players."
Schalke will however be without midfielder Johannes Geis who is suspended for Saturday's match.
Bayern on the other hand will be without midfielder Thiago Alcantara who picked up a knee injury during the match against England. Whereas the likes of Franck Ribery (ankle), Mario Gotze (hamstring) and Juan Bernat (groin) will remain on the sidelines.
