Real Madrid has a new leading scorer in their record books and he goes by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese striker now has 501 career goals and 324 of them have come with Real Madrid. After being considered a bit of an arrogant figure, Ronaldo was humbled for achieving such place in history.
In a special ceremony held at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ronaldo spoke about those who have helped him get to where he is now. He also talked about how he really felt about getting to the top of the record books in Real Madrid.
CR7 never imagined he would be this successful with Real Madrid
"It’s an honor to be the all-time leading goalscorer for Real Madrid and I have to thank my teammates, coaches, the president, everyone at Real Madrid and my family, friends and all the fans for always supporting me," Ronaldo said.
The ceremony started with a short message by the president Florentino Perez, followed by one from Ronaldo himself. His teammates were in attendance but had to leave early, before it was time for pictures. For CR7, the presence of his son and his mom in the room made him feel quite happy.

The Portuguese striker also took advantage of the moment to regret some of the things he had done along the way. Last season, he was in a media blackout after the team struggled to get past the Round of 16 in the Champions League and also losing 4-0 to Atletico Madrid within a short period of time. He admitted that he had been kind of a b******' with them by doing so.

Ronaldo also did not forget of those coaches he has worked for over the years. The ones that saw him grow up in Portugal, develop in England and become a superstar in Spain.
"I'd also like to thank my coaches. Pellegrini, Mourinho, (Carlo) Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez. They have always helped me in my career. To the foundation, the staff and the physios," Ronaldo said. "If I have forgotten anyone I ask for
