Even if the 2014-2015 season provided no new trophies for Real Madrid, the IFFHS granted them the 2014 Best Team Award. Today, after Los Blancos' training session ended, a couple of the IFFHS spokesmen handed the trophy to Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid's symbol and captain.
Last year, Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish Copa del Rey and the FIFA Club World Cup, a series of trophies that made the IFFHS consider them as the best club in the globe. The organisation's ranking had Real Madrid breaking the record for most points in a single year, ending with a total of 381 points. Bayern Munich followed Los Blancos with a total of 276 points, Madrid's neighbour Atlético came third with 267, and finally, Barcelona ends the short list provided by the IFFHS with 251 points.

Cristiano Ronaldo collected two awards from the IFFHS
Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo was also presented with the World's Top Scorer and the World's Top Division Goalscorer of 2014 awards. The first trophy was handed to CR7 considering his goals with his club and his National team, beating Neymar and Lionel Messi to the trophy. Furthermore, the Portuguese striker shared the other award with Luis Suarez, after racking up 31 goals in the 2013-2014 season.

Toni Kroos, Best Playmaker of 2014
German midfielder Toni Kroos was also the recipient of another award, after being named Best Playmaker of 2014. The former Bayern midfielder earned 110 votes, beating Lionel Messi (108) and team-mate James Rodriguez (53).

After the news broke out, some fans started wondering why Los Blancos were given so many awards, despite their trophy-less ending of the recently concluded season.
