Both sides were granted almost no chance of making the knockout stages. Which team will be capable of extending their Copa América hopes for one more game?

Two of the Copa América's bigges surprises are Perú and Bolivia. Experts gave both teams almost no chance of making it to the next round, but they managed to display quality football in the Group stage in order to make it to the knockout round.

Peru will start this match as the favorite to keep going. Their displays against Brazil and Colombia lead experts to think they can earn back-to-back semi-finals in the South American tournament, with the help of key players such as Paolo Guerrero, veteran Claudio Pizarro and Jefferson Farfán. Coach Ricardo Gareca, who is living his first experience as Perú's coach, has put together a team that can work the counter-attacks as much as they enjoy keeping the ball themselves. Seasoned midfielder Juan Vargas, currently playing for Fiorentina, trusts his side can live up to the expectations, basing his hopes on all the hard work they put when the team enters the pitch.

On the other hand, Bolivia's run in this Copa América has been one to re-write their recent history in the tournament. The Bolivians had not made it past the group stage since 1997, when they organized the tournament, and during this competition, Mauricio Soria's team won its first match in the most recent six editions. However, their last outing against host Chile left serious doubts concerning their real chances of making it to the semi-finals, after being destroyed 5-0. With that in mind, coach Soria believes his team will be able to keep adding glorious pages to their record-book, despite all those critics that believe otherwise.

Both teams have won the competition before, but their glory days go way back. For instance, Perú's most recent success in the tournament goes back to 1975, and the Bicolor has reached the semi-finals on four different occasions since then. Bolivia's history is no different, finishing only once among the final four teams, curiously, in 1997, when the team lost the final match against Brazil.
