Led by Neymar, La Canarinha will try to show the world they left their atrocious World Cup performance behind them, while trying to prove they are title contenders once more.

Last year's World Cup was supposed to be all smiles for Brazil, and their fans will surely try to forget it as soon as possible. A good performance by the Verdeamarelha side could help them do so, even if their team is not as strong as other versions of their National Team.

Coach Dunga returns for his second stint as manager, and he will try to apply his tough personality to his team, with hard-working players instead of the traditional jogo bonito. Dunga won the Copa America twice as a player, can he do it as Brazil's coach after his 2007 victory?

Right now, Brazil is 5th in FIFA's World Ranking, holding the third spot among CONMEBOL's countries.

What does history say about Brazil's Copa America performances?

"La Verdeamarelha" have won this tournament eight times, with their last win coming in 2007. In the previous six editions, Brazil has managed to win it four times (1997,1999, 2004,2007). This will also be a good chance to redeem themselves after their disappointing performance in 2011, where they were eliminated in the Quarter-finals. La Canarinha has not missed the knockout stage in the last ten Copa America editions, something no other country can say. Individually, Brazilian striker Zizinho is the all-time scoring leader of the tournament with 17 goals, and he holds the second place with most games played with 33 caps.

Brazil's top players to watch

Even if Dunga did not call up too many talented players, there's one that stands out from the rest: Neymar. Brazil's superstar has evolved since he joined Barcelona two years ago, and his skills could benefit La Verdeamarelha during their hunt for silverware. Neymar has scored 43 goals so far defending his National Team's jersey, and with the help of other players such as Phillippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, he could prove once and for all he can lead Dunga's side to the place they should have never left.

Neymar is just five goals away from surpassing Zico among Brazil's all-time top scorers.
