The defending champions will be in a buoyant mood as they host the Italian side in the first leg. The fixture succeeds their valiant performance against Real Madrid last time out a match which ended in a 3-2 defeat for the Rojiblancos.
Having won Europe's second tier competition thrice, Sevilla will be confident they can make it to the final for the second consecutive season. However Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra has refused to take his opponents on Thursday lightly and has maintained that his side is aware of the task at hand.
"We cannot think about the final yet," Iborra said.
"The first leg will be an important and beautiful game to play. We are prepared to face it.
“We know that Fiorentina have great players and that they are having a good season in the Italian league - and we know that they will be difficult.
“All the players know that this is a special game for our fans and we want to give them reasons to feel proud. We are sure they will give us a helping hand as they have done all season."
The Andalusian club is currently fifth in La Liga and trail fourth place Valencia who currently occupy the final Champions League spot, by three points. Iborra assured fans that the players will do everything possible to secure a place in the top four by the end of the season.
"We will try to finish fourth," Iborra promised. "We will fight for the Champions League and we will continue to leave everything on the field just like in the match against Real Madrid."
Fiorentina's season on the other hand has been characterized by a fair bit of inconsistency. The Viola went on a four game losing run in the league which was brought to an end in their last encounter against relegation favorites Cesena. Montella's men are unlikely to gain a Champions League spot through a league finish and thus will be hoping that a Europa League triumph can pave their way to the Champions League place.
However Fiorentina's hopes of making it to the final could be dented by Sevilla's incredible record at home who prior to the match against Real Madrid had gone on a 34 match unbeaten run at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
