2026
ORF will broadcast 52 matches from the FIFA World Cup 2026 live in Austria across its free-to-air TV channels and the ORF ON streaming app, including the final and key Austria fixtures, with rights shared alongside ServusTV.

2028
ORF has secured broadcast rights in Austria to UEFA Euro 2028 thanks to a sublicensing deal with ServusTV, the official European Championship rights holder in the country. Under this arrangement, the national public broadcaster will air nearly half of the tournament’s fixtures.
As a result, fans in Belgium can watch 25 out of the 51 Euro 2028 games live on ORF, including four out of eight round of 16 matches, two out of four quarter-finals, and one of the two semi-final fixtures.

2022-2026

2026-2029
Fans in Austria can watch select Austrian Bundesliga matches live for free on ORF for the 2026 to 2031 cycle, with the national public broadcaster extending free-to-air rights to the Austrian top-flight league in a five-year deal starting from 2026-27 up to, and including, the 2030-31 season.
Under this rights deal, ORF broadcasts four live matches per season, comprising two first-choice and two second-choice fixtures, similar to the previous 2022-23 to 2025-26 cycle.

2026-2030
Fans in Austria can watch all games from the Austrian Cup, also known as the ÖFB Cup, on ORF after the public service broadcaster secured a multi-platform domestic rights deal. This agreement, reached with the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) in March 2026, runs until 2030 and covers ORF’s free-to-air, radio, and online channels.

2026-2030

2025-2030
ORF holds the rights to the Women's Champions League in Austria, thanks to a deal struck by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
As part of the agreement, at least one game per game week shown on ORF, on top of any matches featuring Austrian teams. All matches shown on ORF are free-to-air and this will remain the case until the end of the 2029-30 season, when the current deal expires.

ORF Sport Plus history, coverage, features
ORF Sport Plus is a free-to-air television programme available in Austria, Italy and Switzerland.The channel was launched in 2006 by Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) to become the broadcaster’s dedicated sports channel. It is available on linear television and also via digital platforms.
As the name suggests, the channel is dedicated to providing households in Austria with free live sports broadcasts. Over the years, this has included coverage of the Formula One World Championship, the National Football League (NFL) and the Austrian Bundesliga.
In terms of international football, live matches featuring the Austrian national team have also featured on the channel, while ORF has also previously owned the live broadcast rights for the FIFA World Cup.
Live football match coverage on ORF Sports Plus comes with German-language commentary as standard, on top of analysis from a team of experts and pundits. Herbert Prohaska is one name that frequently appears on the channel.
Football fans in Austria can find ORF Sports Plus on channel 91 on linear TV. Alternatively, the channel can be streamed live and on demand via the ORF ON streaming platform. This can be accessed either directly through a web browser or via an app, which can be downloaded for free onto Android and iOS devices.
