The Portuguese might finally leave Los Blancos this summer, since neither him nor Florentino Pérez seem to be willing to negotiate.

Fans worried about Real Madrid's future have reasons to think Cristiano Ronaldo might be headed down the same path as Zinedine Zidane, since he has made a staggering wage demand to keep playing for the UEFA Champions League holders.

According to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, negotiations to extend the player's contract between his agent and Florentino Pérez are currently underway, but the amount of money Cristiano Ronaldo asks on a yearly basis is just too much.

The Spanish publication revealed that CR7 asked for a wage of 80 million euros per season (around $93  million) in order to become the world's best paid player.

Considering that Cristiano Ronaldo is under contract with the team until the end of the 2020-21 season, Florentino Pérez would need to add to CR7's current deal an astonishing amount of 240 million euros (some $280M) if he gave in to the player's wishes.

To make matters worse, neither the striker nor the team's president seem willing to negotiate, which would cause CR7 to leave the club this summer. Considering that the player's buyout clause is reaches €1B, it seems that the player will have to lower his salary demands if he wants to keep playing in La Liga. Or he could wait for some team to come up with that amount of money, which is far from becoming a reality.
