According to ESPN Brasil, the Selecao skipper will remain at Camp Nou until 2021.

It looks like the English Premier League is set to miss out on one of football’s most exciting players: Neymar.

That’s right, questions regarding the future of Brazilian superstar look to be put to rest, as ESPN Brasil report that the player has signed a contract extension with Barcelona.

The Selecao skipper has long been embroiled in transfer speculation linking him with a Camp Nou exit, as his legal battles in Spain continue to weigh heavily on the 24-year-old’s shoulders – though it hasn’t affected his performance one bit.

This comes after Cadena Cope recently revealed that the former Santos ace signed a pre-agreement with the Blaugrana over a new deal, one which would pave the way to a contract extension, yet was not binding or definitive.

However, ESPN Brasil now claim that an extension – which would see him remain with the Liga BBVA and Champions League holders until 2021 – has been finalized and signed.

Neymar, Barcelona, Celta Vigo, La Liga

In fact, they report that the deal was completed back in December whilst Luis Enrique’s crew were in Japan for the FIFA Club World Cup, which they eventually won.

No details or figure were revealed, but any announcement should put fans to ease given Neymar’s importance to the club.
