Germany's players pictured during a training session. The three-time World Cup champions are struggling with an injury crisis. After the news about Michael Ballack’s impossibility to play in South Africa through injury, there’s now another report explaining that defender Heiko Westermann has also been hit by an injury.

The player suffered a blow in stoppage time against Hungary. Heiko Westermann’s injury news adds more worries to Coach Joachim Lowe who already has to deal with the absence of midfielder Simon Rolfes and first choice keeper Rene Adler. New captain Philip Lahm insists that Germany haven’t lost hope of dreaming big ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

He declared:

“These injuries cannot influence the team. Our aim is to get to the semis and the team even dreams about more than that.”

Lahm also gave info about the German’s camp ahead of Thursday’s friendly match against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“The atmosphere is extremely good here. The many young players in the team seem to bring in some fresh air. The mood is very good.”

You will expect Germany, who won their last two friendly matches against Malta and Hungary on a 3-0 score line, to defeat Bosnia-Herzegovina who can count four losses out of their last five matches.
