Manchester United fans are demanding for the sack of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after failing to guide the club to the next round of the FA Cup. The Red Devils were dealt a massive blow in their pursuit for the domestic cup following Wednesday night's 1-0 defeat to West Ham at Old Trafford.
Less than a week ago, the two had gone head-to-head in a cagey Premier League encounter which ended in favor of the men in red. Although Cristiano Ronaldo got on the scoresheet in his third game running for the club and Jesse Lingard secured the win with an 89th minute strike after Said Benhrama had put the Hammers ahead, it was David de Gea who captured the headlines for his remarkable 95th-minute penalty save.
On Wednesday, the London club came to Old Trafford with the sole objective to avenge the weekend's disappointing loss and managed to hit the ground running in the early minutes. Manuel Lanzini fired David Moyes' men in front in the ninth minute, and the goal will eventually decide the mid-week cup game as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision make 11 changes to the team that won the previous clash backfired.
Fans have since taken to social media to air their frustrations with the club's head coach coming under scrutiny. Last season, the Norwegian failed to lead the club to end their trophy drought after losing to Leicester City and Manchester City in the semi-final of the FA Cup and EFL Cup respectively. The club also fell short against Villarreal in the final of the Europa League after settling for a runners-up finish in the Premier League. Wednesday's defeat to West Ham also meant that they have now failed to win all 18 trophies they have competed in under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
