Javier Hernandez would have been given a major role in tonight’s Chelsea vs Manchester United match if Wayne Rooney had received a ban. But Fergie will now consider choosing Wazza ahead of Chicharito.
Not for the first time this season, the ex-Chivas striker will most probably have to start a game from the bench. Javier Hernandez, who scored a brace against Wigan Athletic last weekend, claims that he is not obsessed with gaining more favour in Alex Ferguson’s sight as a regular starter.

The Mexican explained that team work was more important than individual achievements as he is prepared to see Wayne Rooney start against Chelsea ahead of him.

“I have no problems being on the bench. I understand that football is a team sport, it’s not like golf or tennis,” Javier Hernandez told The Sun.

“So you have to help your team when you play from the beginning, but also when you come on from the bench. We are like pieces of a jigsaw and the boss decides how to use us.

“If [Alex] Ferguson picks me for the starting line-up, that would be great. But if not, that's fine too.”

Javier Hernandez has already scored against Chelsea in his career; that was in the 2010 FA Community Shield when he marked his Manchester United debut in England in grand style. Javier Hernandez was used as a second-half substitute and he didn’t fail to make an impact as the Red Devils triumphed 3-1 over Chelsea on that day.

The Mexican striker, who has netted 9 goals for Manchester United in 18 English Premier League appearances, will be hoping for something similar to happen at Stamford Bridge tonight.
