The time for the UEFA awards is upon us, meaning fans will not have to wait too long to see some of the biggest names in football get recognized by European football's governing body. The prize, handed out before the new seasons kicks off, honors some of the outstanding performers from the previous season.

As a result, it comes as little surprise to see Real Madrid players dominate the list. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming award.

The awards will be handed out in the same event as the Champions League group stage draw, which kicks off at 11:30 ET / 15:30 GMT.

Alongside the UEFA Men's Player of the Year accolade, there are positional awards to recognize the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forward.
