Maneul Pellegrini’s men are in dire need of a win following their weekend thrashing in the hands of Premier League defending champions Chelsea. Understandably, the Chilean manager rested his key players during the FA Cup in order to give them enough time prepare for their Champions League fixture.
The Citizens are expected to field the same side that faced Spurs in their last league match. Defender Eliaquim Mangala is expected to return after suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out of action since January 6. The Sky Blues will however miss the services of Kevin de Bruyne, Samir Nasri, Jesus Navas, Fabian Delph and Wilfried Bony due to injury.
Despite their injuries, the European money-bags boast of a powerful attack led by the likes of Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Sergio Aguero.

The greatest challenge in this fixture comes from the fact that City are facing a side that has not played a match since their win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv on match day six and this makes it difficult for the English side to predict their opponents' recent form. They will therefore have to approach this match with a lot of caution and uncertainty, something that could affect their free-flowing football.
On the other hand, the hosts are expected to play a careful game just like they did against Chelsea in their 0-0 draw in Kyiv. They will be hoping to prevent City’s lethal forwards from scoring, and hit them with quick counter attacks.
