Chilean boss Manuel Pellegrini made some suggestions to the team's owners in order to boost their already talented squad.

Manchester City's chances of silverware this season may have been reduced to what they can do in the Champions League, and before they have another trophy-less season, the team's execs may be planning a big move to boost them. Sources indicate that the Citizens will try to add one "crack" to their lineup, and that top player will come out of the following trio: Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Pogba.

Manuel Pellegrini, whose contract with the Citizens could be terminated at the end of the current season, suggested Txiki Begiristain the signing of another top-class player to help Sergio Aguero upfront. Their first target would be French Paul Pogba, who has stated earlier this season that he may leave Juventus this summer if he sees no intention from the team's bosses to extend his contract with a hefty raise included. The player's buyout clause of 55 million pounds could be easily matched by the Citizens, and the rumors surrounding Yaya Toure's future away from Manchester City could make room for Pogba in the Sky Blues' midfield.

But if their Plan A doesn't work, Gareth Bale would be next in line in Pellegrini's wishlist. The Welshman was sought out for quite some time before he made his millionaire move to Real Madrid. Living a complicated moment with Los Blancos, a potential move back to England could be surrounding the wingman's mind, although his buyouy clause is a little bit higher than Pogba's.

But if Pogba and Bale can't be signed by the Citizens, the current Premier League champions would love to snatch Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester. Even though the Portuguese man has always stated his love for Manchester United, the right amount of money could shift his feelings. Ronaldo is currently living his worst moment with Real Madrid, being booed by fans and getting into arguments with them during the most recent matches against Schalke and Levante. If Manchester City wants to add him to their roster, now would be a good time to make a bid for his services.
