In a match which will be bigger than just a London Derby, the apprentice finally takes on his master as AVB’s Tottenham invite Mourinho’s Chelsea to the White Hart Lane.

AVB vs Jose Mourinho is the biggest battle in the Spurs vs Chelsea match.Having served the Special One as his right man at three different clubs, this will be the first time Mourinho and AVB will find themselves in different dug outs. Andre Villa Boas has previously assisted the current Chelsea manager during his last stint at Chelsea as well as his successful spells at Porto and at Inter Milan.

Even though the two worked along for quite some time Tottenham’s Portuguese tactician is of the belief that the relationship between the two has broken down.

"I don't lose any sleep. We had a great personal and professional relationship before. We don't have that now,” said the 35 year old.

AVB laments his ambition as the primary reason of the breakdown of relationship between the two.

“Our break-up point was because I was full of ambition to give him something extra and I wanted further involvement from the job I was doing at that time. I felt I could give him much more,” he added

Mourinho responded to AVB’s claim by refusing to provide many details as he preferred to keep his personal matters away from the media.

"I don't discuss this with the media. it's a personal thing. I don't care what he says. I'm not here to do that. I'm not interested,” said the Chelsea boss

“Will I go for a glass of wine with him? When people invite me I always go. I never refuse. But I have nothing more to say on this."

The return of Jose Mourinho was greeted by the Chelsea fans as a breath of fresh air who expected the Blues to start off in a relentless fashion. Even though Chelsea currently find themselves in the top four, their start to the season has been less than impressive. If Chelsea draw their match against Tottenham on Saturday, they would have ironically made the same start to the league as they did in the 2007-08 season, when six games into the league Jose Mourinho was relieved of his duties as Chelsea manager.

However they will be against a Tottenham side which has a very poor record against their London counterparts. Since 1990 the two sides have met 55 times in league and cup encounters, with Spurs managing just five victories compared to Chelsea’s 31. As far as Premier League encounters are concerned, of the 42 matches played between the two teams Tottenham have managed to win only thrice against the English giants.
