The Apertura 2019 tournament picks up after last weekend's games. Veracruz will make their debut in the Apertura 2019 following their bye week and after solving some issues with the Mexican Football Federation (FMF). América and Tigres are the current leaders, since both of them won their respective matches with a 4-2 score.
Matchday 2 of the Apertura 2019 tournament will kick off on Friday, leaving three matches to be played on Saturday. The majority of the games will be held on Sunday, with the main course being the clash between Chivas and Tigres. Puebla will be handed a bye due to the odd number of teams involved in this competition.
Without further ado, here are the two most relevant games scheduled to be played this weekend.
León vs América
Las Águilas have found it hard to beat León since La Fiera returned to the Mexican top flight in 2012. Their recent clash saw León eliminating América in the Clausura 2019 semis, where Miguel Herrera's men were denied the possibility of winning back-to-back titles. León took home three points after beating Pachuca last week, with two of their new players finding the back of the net. Needless to say, this will be quite a good clash between two title contenders.

Guadalajara vs Tigres UANL
Chivas has had a rough start of the season, and pressure seems to be piling up on coach Tomás Boy, who has only been able to win one of hjs five Liga MX clashes since he took over. Tigres enters this match on a six-game streak without a loss against Los Rojiblancos, and one more win for the blue and gold side may give us the first sacked coach in the Mexican top flight.
