With his appointment as Manchester United boss being a matter of days, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already started to plan what the Red Devil's squad will look like in the 2019-20 season.
The Norwegian boss was handed the interim gig back in December, but his brand of attacking football has dazzled fans and experts around the world. With that in mind, and in order to keep the good form, the former striker has already handed in a list of requests to Manchester United's bosses, where he points out the need to sign four players.
According to a report by the Mirror, Solskjaer has asked the team's hierarchy to pursue the signing of a right back, a left back, an attacking midfielder and a right winger. Solskjaer believes that having two players for each position is crucial for years to come, which has prompted him to suggest those moves.
At right back, Diogo Dalot is the team's only long-term option, since Antonio Valencia is expected to leave by the end of the season and Ashley Young is 33-years-old. The same goes for the left back, with Luke Shaw being the only left back committed to the club beyond this season, since Matteo Darmian is also expected to leave.
As for the attacking midfielder position, Solskjaer believes that a replacement for Paul Pogba could come in handy, so the player can rest a bit more and perform better when crunch time comes. Last, but not least, the right winger is a spot that Manchester United has been searching for since Jose Mourinho's days at the helm, which makes Solskjaer's suggestion the least surprising of the four.
The Norwegian boss is expected to be handed the permanent job as Man United's boss during the upcoming international break. Then, the former striker will focus on improving the squad for the upcoming fixtures and the 2019-20 EPL season, where the Red Devils will try to bounce back to greatness after a few seasons in the shadows.
