Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier has pulled out of the England squad due to injury. However, Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho is reportedly in contention to be handed his full England debut.

Thursday's international friendly – now dubbed the Wayne Rooney Foundation International - will be England's penultimate game of the year before it takes on Croatia on Sunday. The upcoming test will be a sending-off for former skipper Wayne Rooney who will be earning his 120th cap on the day.

Having declared his intentions to retire in 2017, the 33-year-old striker momentarily ranks as England's all-time top goalscorer with 53 goals – four clear of the great Sir. Bobby Charlton. Reports suggest that the former Manchester United stalwart will potentially come off to bench wearing the No.10 jersey and will captain the Three Lions for the last time.

For the United States, Rooney's involvement will not be new with his exploit already known following his move to DC United this summer. The striker managed to net 12 times in 21 appearances during the regular season to elevate his side from a low position to the MLS Play-offs.
