Current form: Milan vs Juventus
Milan come into this game sitting in fourth place thanks to three straight wins which have helped the Rossoneri climb back up the table. That includes two wins over Sampdoria and Genoa, but they have been struggling to get results in the Europa League, and it hasn't helped to alleviate the pressure on Gennaro Gattuso. A 1-1 draw with Real Betis has seen them slip to second in their quartet, while the Spaniards have now moved to first. With Olympiakos now lurking behind on seven points thanks to back-to-back wins, Milan actually are in a rather uncomfortable position as they are not fully guaranteed safe passage to the round of 32.
However, they can ill afford to focus too much on that now, as they will be welcoming league leaders Juventus to the Stadio San Siro. La Vecchia Signora also endured a disappointing result in their midweek European game as they lost 2-1 to Manchester United. That marked the first defeat across all competitions for Massimiliano Allegri's men and means they will have to wait a bit longer to secure their spot in the round of 16. Certainly, it will also serve as a big wake-up call for the Bianconeri, who had not conceded a single goal in the Champions League up until the defeat to Jose Mourinho's side.
Still, in Serie A, Juve have been largely unstoppable, with the only slight blemish being a 1-1 draw with Genoa a few rounds back. The visitors also have an excellent head-to-head record against Milan and so far have already beaten Lazio and Napoli, so certainly, they will be seeing themselves as somewhat favorites to come out on top here.
This game is also interesting as Leonardo Bonucci may - or may not, as some reports claim - feature against his former club. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to break a hoodoo of his own at the Stadio San Siro: to date, the 33-year-old superstar has never scored at this ground, whether it's been playing for Manchester United or for Real Madrid. His last trip to the ground shared between Milan and Inter was for the 2016 Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and although he did confidently convert his penalty during the shoot-out, he was unable to score in regular time.
Current position: Milan vs Juventus
Currently, Milan are in fourth spot, with Juventus still cruising along in first. Can the Rossoneri close the gap on cross town rivals Inter with their first win against Juventus in over two years in Serie A?
