Current form: How Poland and Italy compare
Poland have won just three games since the start of 2018 and endured a very disappointing World Cup, winning just one of their three group stage games - a narrow 1-0 defeat against Japan. There were some high expectations of the team, who were then led by Adam Nawalka, especially given their top-ten ranking heading into that tournament. However, the Orly failed to live up to expectations, with star striker Robert Lewandowski enduring a miserable competition as he was unable to net a single goal.
The hosts come into this game having lost 3-2 to Portugal in their most recent competitive match, and prior to that were held to a 1-1 draw with Ireland in a friendly tie.
Italy, by contrast, failed to qualify for their first World Cup since 1958 after losing in the play-offs to Sweden and are still clearly in a rebuilding phase. Since then, they've lost 3-1 to France, picked up two 1-1 draws with Poland and the Netherlands, were beaten 1-0 by a Portugal side sans Cristiano Ronaldo, and recently were held to a frustrating 1-1 stalemate against Eastern European minnows Ukraine.

Both teams would do anything to trade places with Portugal, to be honest. Neither side have won a game so far, and both the Azzurri and Poland come into this game having picked up just one point. That was thanks to cancelling each other out in a 1-1 draw on matchday one, while EURO 2016 winners Portugal have earned six points as a result of winning their first two games.
Having both lost to Portugal, Italy and Poland will each be hoping to get back on track here to close some of that gap on the current group leaders to just two points as Portugal are not in action until next month.
