Current form: How Montenegro and Serbia compare
Montenegro have never qualified for a tournament since becoming independent from Serbia in 2006 and they will be hoping to take some steps towards achieving that dream by qualifying for EURO 2020 through the Nations League over the course of this year and 2019.
The Brave Falcons, who are skippered by Monaco's Stevan Jovetic, have only won one game since the start of 2018 - when they beat Lithuania 2-0. Other than that, it's been a series of draws for the hosts against Cyprus, Turkey, Bosnia, and Romania, with one loss to Slovenia along the way.
As for Serbia, they topped their World Cup qualifying group and thus booked their spot at their first World Cup since the 2010 edition. However, the Orlovi campaign ended in disappointment, as despite earning a hard-fought win over Costa Rica in their first group stage match, they failed to beat Switzerland and lost 2-0 to Brazil, thus crashing out at the group stage.
Since then, Serbia have won one game - a narrow 1-0 result against Lithuania last month - and will be looking to make it two wins in two in their first-ever UEFA Nations League campaign. They drew 2-2 with Romania in their second fixture and know that a win here could go a long way to deciding who ultimately gets promoted to League B next time around.
