Round six ox the Ligue 1 season gets underway, and already a gap has opened up at the top of the table. And no surprise, it's PSG who lead the way. After just five rounds, a perfect start to the season for Thomas Tuchel's men sees Les Parisiens sitting five points clear of the chasing pack.
Key fixture - Rennes vs PSG
The hosts will be the latest side to try and stop the reigning champions PSG. Of course, that will be easier said than done as Les Parisiens have won their last six away matches against Rennes across all competitions. And having lost to Liverpool in the Champions League midweek, they will be frustrated and looking to take out some of that disappointment on someone. Rennes will hope not to be that punching bag this weekend.
However, Rennes do have some pretty solid form themselves, namely on home turf, where they are undefeated in their last five Ligue 1 games. Despite their struggles on the road, the hosts still manage to stay in the top half of the table thanks to their strong home form. That being said, PSG are coming to town. Will they be able to halt the Parisian juggernaut - a formidable force even without a key striker who misses out due to a ban?

Mario Balotelli is reportedly set to feature this round after missing out. The enigmatic striker has played less than 90 minutes of competitive club football this term, yet was picked to feature for Italy during their 1-1 draw with Poland during the international break. His performance was heavily criticized by Italian pundits for his overweight appearance, and rumors are rife that he was actually fined for being over an acceptable playing weight.
As Patrick Vieira's side aim to pick up a third straight Ligue 1 win, his manager has decided to recall him to the squad. It will remain to be seen, however, if he features in the starting XI or is involved in any capacity for their upcoming tie with Montpellier.
