The former PSG, Barcelona, and AC Milan star looks ready to officially hang up his boots after winning several trophies and individual awards.

Ronaldinho has long been out of the top-level football scene, but the Brazilian icon remains a favorite in the hearts of several fans. As a result, his retirement will come as sad news to many, having graced the beautiful game with his amazing skills and flare.

The 37-year-old hasn’t played professional football for two years since his departure from Fluminense in 2015. Thus, his plan to retire is sad, but not surprising.

The former Selecao ace revealed that he will officially hang up his boots in 2018. But before he does that, we might see him play for some of Europe’s top sides once more.

"There is this chance, I think I'm saying goodbye to football next year, officially," Ronaldinho said.

"I might play some farewell games for the teams I've played for, it's something we'll have to think about sometime soon."

This could result in Ronaldinho donning the PSG, Barcelona, and AC Milan jerseys before hanging up his boots. Seeing him in a Blaugrana shirt once more will be exciting, as it was at Camp Nou where he was at the top of his game.

When in form, the Brazilian was nearly impossible to stop. He won two league titles, the Champions League, and the Ballon d’Or during his Barcelona days.

For Brazil, Ronaldinho played an integral role in World Cup-winning squad of 2002 – who can forget that free-kick goal against England’s David Seaman. He also captained the Selecao to the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup crown.

What’s next for the South American? The player admitted that he wants to focus on his music career, as well as other projects, having released his debut single "Sozinho" in March.

"Once I'm retiring from football, then I'm moving forward on my musical projects, my football schools. It's something new for me, I'll have to adapt," he added, as per Goal.
