Here's how things look in Group C ahead of the match

Preview

So far, Belgium is the only UEFA representative to already book their ticket for next year's World Cup. Germany, who are the reigning champions can certainly do so with a win over Norway, which would take them to 24 points and provided that Northern Ireland do not win their match against the Czech Republic.

Joachim Low's men did find it a lot tougher than expected in their last fixture versus the Czech Republic, and needed a late goal from Mats Hummels to secure all three points. However, they're still unbeaten so far in qualifiers and the goal they conceded in that fixture is only the second one they have shipped in their past seven games during this process.

As for Norway, they sit in fourth spot but still do have some hope at qualifying for the World Cup via a play-off. The visitors come into this match having defeated Azerbaijan 2-0, but their last meeting with Germany resulted in a 3-0 defeat. It goes without saying that they will have to overcome a long history of bad results against the reigning World Cup champions if they want to start working their way up the table, and for all intents and purposes, it looks more like they will be attempting to soak up as much pressure as possible and hitting back on any counter-attack opportunities that may arise.
