Even if he's been able to become one of Manchester United's most infuential players this season, Juan Mata did not escape the fans' rage after his own goal against Stoke City.
Mata gave the hosts the lead after sending the ball into the back of his own net after 19 minutes. It was the first own goal of his illustrious career, which has gone on for 520 games between club and country.
To make matters worse, he wasn't able to redeem himself after missing a shot from inside the 5-yard box, making fans believe that maybe he fell out of bed with the wrong foot this morning.
One of his supporters will have mixed feelings about his goal today.
If mata scores, my birthday will be perfect

The rest, however, believe firmly that Mata is having one hell of a day.

Mata, after his own goal, has just missed an absolute sitter. Ibrahimovic cross and Mata managed to scoop finish over the bar at back post.

Mata doing his best to remind Jose Mourinho why he never liked him in the first place.

Juan Mata has had some first half here. Own goal, missed an open goal and almost been ran down/ran down the referee.
