Match facts and other historical stats - PSG vs. Dijon

  • Dijon have yet to win a road fixture this season

Team news

PSG

PSG could temporarily jump to the top of the Ligue 1 table with a win on Tuesday evening. Although they cruised to a fourth straight domestic title last season, things have not been as smooth sailing for Les Parisiens so far this term. However, they still do boast one of the strongest squads in France and are fully expected to challenge for the domestic crown - and if the club's ambitious owners have their way, the Champions League as well.

Les Parisiens will be coming into this game having crushed Caen 6-0. Edinson Cavani, who has been under the microscope as of late due to his slow start - and missing numerous opportunities during the 1-1 UCL draw with Arsenal - silenced those critics by netting a poker in that match. The Uruguayan, however, may not feature in this game due to muscular fatigue, and along with Italian midfielder Marco Verratti, will have to be assessed shortly before the game to determine if he will be fit enough to play. Additional absentees may include Layvin Kurzawa and Serge Aurier, whilst Thiago Silva will be joined by eitehr Presnel Kimpembé or fellow Brazilian Marquinhos in defense.

Dijon

Meanwhile, Dijon are still seeking their first point on the road this season. They arrive in Paris off the back off a frustrating scoreless draw with Metz, during which a missed spot-kick cost them dearly, and will have to make do without the services of Marvin Martin and Julio Tavares, the latter of whom was injured during the team's recent stalemate. All in all, the odds don't look good. Dijon have never beaten PSG in Ligue 1 play nor have they managed to do this at the Parc des Princes, and they will be taking on a side determined to re-claim their spot at the top of the table before matchday seven starts later this week.

Broadcast info - Nice vs. Monaco

Team news

Nice

Last week saw Nice lose 1-0 to Schalke in Europa League action, but they managed to rebound with a 1-1 draw against Montpellier this past weekend. The hosts opted to rest quite a few players for that game in order to keep everyone fresh for what will be a very busy September, and several, including Mario Balotelli, Vincent Koziello and Ricardo Pereira are expected to return for this game.

Les Aiglons have garnered a lot more attention outside France and French football fans due to their signing of the enigmatic Balotelli, and the Italian striker has started off life in France on a decent footing with two goals to his name so far. Meanwhile, Gautier Lloris, Walter Benítez, Mickael Le Bihan, and Maxime Le Marchand are all on the treatment table, whilst Jean-Michaël Séri, who suffered a shoulder injury during the clash with Schalke could miss out. And Lucien Favre will have to decide as to whether to field Younès Belhand or rest him for this derby clash against Monaco.

Monaco

Meanwhile, on the other side of the pitch will be another striker hoping to make a career comeback: Radamel Falcao. The Colombian attacker scored his first Ligue 1 goal in over two years when he netted the first for Monaco in a 3-0 victory over Rennes, and will be hoping to play a starring role in Wednesday's Côte d'Azur derby.

Leonardo Jardim's side presently enjoy a two point advantage at the top of the table, with Nice hot on their tails. As such, the results of this game could definitely decide who heads into round seven as league leaders, and with PSG eager to chase both teams down, both Monaco and Nice will naturally be gunning for all three points in this game. A draw for Les Rouges-et-Blancs, even with a win for PSG would still give them a slight advantage, but they would obviously want to keep that gap at three points for as long as possible. Benjamin Mendy and Nabil Dirar are definitely out, whilst Tiémoué Bakayoko and Djibril Sidibé, who were both rested at the weekend, should make their returns for this crunch clash.
