World giants Germany have suffered a huge injury blow ahead of their opening match in the Euro 2016 against Ukraine.

The three-time European Championship winners will have to play in the Euro 2016 without defender Antonio Rudiger who picked up a ligament problem on his right knee. The team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfarht confirmed the injury moments after the team’s training session.

Following the latest injury concern in Die Mannschaft’s camp, Jonathan Tah has been called to replace the injured AS Roma star. Tah plays for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and at the age of 20, he will be tasked with the main responsibility of keeping goalkeeper Manuel Neur safe against the Ukrainians.

The Germany international played his first and only game for his country so far during the international friendly against England when they lost 3-2. He was introduced into the game as a replacement for Mats Hummels and once again, he has been called to replace Rudiger.

After the confirmation of the injury, a section of Germany players took to Twitter to wish him a quick recovery. Here are some of the tweets:
