Ukraine's UEFA Euro history
Ukraine made their debut in the UEFA European Championship in 2012 when they co-hosted the tournament, giving them an automatic qualification. In their opening game against Sweden, the hosts won 2-1 but were soon eliminated from the competition after losing against France and England.
Recent Form
In the past 12 months, Ukraine has been competing well against their opponents snatching seven wins in their last ten matches. Their only loss in the Euro 2016 qualifying stage was to Spain which resulted in a narrow 1-0 defeat. In addition, Fomenko's lads hold the 22nd spot in the FIFA World rankings as of May 2016.

Mykhaylo Fomenko was appointed as the head coach of Ukraine's national team four years ago but has yet to taste glory with his side. The former Ukrainian footballer, who was capped 24 times for the Soviet Union became famous for his coaching in Dynamo Kyiv. He guided the club to its first Ukrainian Cup.
Fomenko tactics' of pressing high and attacking aggressively has gotten his squad a ticket to the Euros, as they hope to deliver strong performances throughout the competition. The ex-Dynamo Kyiv defender almost clinched the European title in 1972, yet lost 3-0 in the final to West Germany. Nonetheless, Fomenko will be hoping for his men to perform well in order to stay alive in the group stage.
