Tuesday's match between Honduras and El Salvador will be their fourth in Group A of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers. In a group that's been dominated by Mexico, and with Canada holding on to the second spot, this might be the last chance for El Salvador and Honduras to fight legitimately for a ticket to the next round.
Honduras faces a kind of pressure they've never dealt with before. Another home loss for Jorge Luis Pinto's men would be too much to take, and after their sloppy Gold Cup performance, Honduras' Football Federation could take some harsh decisions to correct the way things are going for them. The former Costa Rica coach needs to find the way to keep all the points at home, or their chances of getting to the next round would be very slim.
Scratching a point away from home would make wonders for Ramon Maradiaga's crew, as they would have the chance to finish things off against Mexico and Canada. Even if La Selecta gets to this match as the underdog, the last time they visited Honduas they ended up bagging all the points. If they can pull through once more, their chances to make it to the next round would improve even more.

Honduras and El Salvador will play the 34th all-time game between each other, with Los Catrachos dominating most of their meetings. Honduras has won 18 out of those games, but their most recent win during an official competition happened almost three years ago.
