Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently sat down and opened up to Unscriptd in a short interview, revealing aspects of his life and professional career, which has so far been record-breaking.
The Portuguese superstar, having scored a whopping 57 goals in all competitions in 2015, revealed exactly who in football inspires him to be the best.
Coming from the same nation of the likes of Luis Figo and the late Eusebio, whilst playing for a club who have been graced by the likes of Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Raul, and Alfredo Di Stefano, Cristiano has so many legends to choose from.
However, according to the three-time Ballon d’Or winner, the man who inspires him is none other than himself.
The 30-year-old did, however, name Figo and Rui Costa as a few big-name players that came before him whom he looked up to.
"Most of the time, I inspired myself," said Ronaldo.
"I'm self-motivated.
"But of course, at that age, I was looking at a big reference in the national team - for example, [Luis] Figo, Rui Costa, Fernando Couto. It was kind of a dream to reach that level.
"The national team, I'd look at them and I'd speak for myself: I want to be a professional player and I want to play for the national team. But I don't have one specific person that I just follow."

In fact, according to the four-time Golden Boot recipient, football is not the only sport in which he admires athletes, but in other sports as well.
"As I said before, I'm self-motivated. I'm always like that since the beginning when I was young, [up until] now.
"Of course, I appreciate other players, talented players, great players - not just in football but in other sports because people enjoy to see, in different specific sports, the best ones.
"You should be able to understand that you don't know everything so the other guy can help you in this kind of way so I just pick the best things off other sports."
