Tottenham have been in ravishing form as of late having suffered just a single defeat in their last 14 matches in all competitions. As a result Spurs are now fifth in the league table and could be on level points with Manchester United by the end of the weekend should they manage a victory.
Their good run has earned them a lot of praise and Newcastle manager Steve McClaren has been among the admirers. The former Derby County manager has been in awe of Tottenham's recent form and has claimed that they could challenge for the title.
However Pochettino has maintained that he will not get ahead of himself and claims that it's too early to speak about the title.
"I respect his opinion and I believe that we have a very strong squad and very good players," Pochettino said.
"After 14 games unbeaten we need to keep on the same level to win every game.
"But it is too early to start to speak about winning the title. Achievements come at the end of the season. For me, it is too early. We need to keep working hard and show the same winning mentality.
Newcastle on the other hand will be hoping to climb out of the relegation zone and a win can allow them to leapfrog both Norwich and Swansea. They will have to do the job without Cheikh Tiote as well as winger Rolando Aarons with defender Jamaal Lascelles also likely to stay on the sidelines. The injury crisis does not end here with the Magpies also set to be without centre backs Mike Williamson and Steven Taylor as well as long term absentees Gabriel Obertan and Massadio Haidara.
Tottenham on the other hand will have uncertainty over the likes of Mousa Dembele who missed the match against Monaco through illness whereas Eric Dier suffered a foot injury during the match. Ryan Mason and Alex Pritchard are also likely to miss out.
