TNT Brasil is a pay-TV channel, owned and operated by Warner Media Entertainment. It is a sister channel to the American television channel TNT. It was launched in Brazil on October 3, 1988 with its programming being focused to satisfy Brazilian customers. Middle-age adults are the channel’s main target audience.
Over the years, TNT has focused on airing television series, movies, and sports events. Other programs shown on this channel include awards ceremonies, concerts, and other special events. The channel’s approach is similar to that of TNT in Argentina, although programming is different in both regions. Broadcast rights, especially for sports, differ between these countries, which makes it impossible for them to share their programming.
Speaking about sports, TNT Brasil has focused on football coverage, while also adding sporadic basketball games and special events. Speaking about football, TNT Brasil has frequently covered Brasileirao games, UEFA Champions League matches, UEFA Nations League games, and more. In fact, the highest rating ever accomplished by this channel came during their broadcast of the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League between Bayern München and Paris Saint-Germain. TNT was on the winning side of Esporte Interativo’s closure, as some of the broadcasting rights owned by that channel were relayed to TNT Brasil and Space.
TNT Brasil started broadcasting their shows on Standard Definition format, but a High Definition feed is now available in all of Latin America. Both feeds are still available in the South American country.
